International Nurse in Australia, Want to Know How to Get Started?

If you’re an International Nurse in Australia or just starting out. You probably need some help on how to start the process or what to expect when you arrive. Look no further. I’m here to put your mind at ease, and give you some tips on how to make the transition more seamless.

Us Nurses are in Demand

I’ve worked as a nurse in Australia for the last 5 years working in many different hospitals, facilities, and specialties. The great thing about being a Nurse in Australia is there are so many opportunities for work. Nurses are highly sought after in Australia and even on the skilled critical shortage list on the immigration website.

What kind of work is there?

International Nurses in Australia must register with AHPRA first. This process can take about 4-6 months from the time you start gathering documents. So start EARLY! You also have the option of working permanent, casual or agency. I have done all three and recommend a combination of agency and part time. I have posts all on agency nursing below and how to register with AHPRA.

Agency Nursing

Agency nursing is an amazing way to earn some good money. It offers you the flexibility to take a few weeks off and travel the coast!

I recommend Network Nursing Agency if you’re planning to work in Sydney. I recommend First Choice Care if you’re planning to work in Queensland.

If you would like the recruiters contact details I personally used please feel free to get in touch. They can hep you start the process.
